Yep, guilty 🙋♀️ I tend to like researching apps as a form of procrastination. Luckily, I have overcome this and have settled into a process. However, with technology constantly changing and new apps/advancing tools it can be easy to get sucked back in. Thank you for this reminder.
Im using Apple notes for simple note taking but anything that lasts longer than a day im putting into notion. But indeed, it’s just a tool and you’d have to find a way to make it work for yourself.
Found you through the Substack weekly and definitely starting following you after this Issue. I’m not a software engineer but found that either I needed an all in one app or I need to create my own. I lack patience for the later so I’m settling on systems that work for me.
Hey Joelle, I fully resonate with you. A while ago I wanted to create my own notes apps, too. Then I found Obsidian and it had everything I needed and more, but I was not happy still. This was the lesson I learned 🙃.

Good point - interestingly people want so badly to believe that ChatGPT is gonna be this catch-all app.
But applied usage and the metrics tells us it is not the case. A focused app still outperforms a super general app.
Nice work.
