1. Focus on growth here on Substack - creating meaningful content, interacting with people and getting some feedback. I am doing some tests right now to learn more about my subscribers and once I'll get enough data, I'll work more on improving my content based on subscribers needs.
2. Professionally, my plan is to get back on track after a career break and land on a job. It might not happen by the end of the month, but what I'm looking for is to get some interviews and to also focus a bit on my networking and soft skills.
3. Continue working on my side project regarding micro-frontends and release an MVP by the end of the month.
These are some fantastic goals. Fingers crossed for landing a job that is meaningful and motivating.
I think it would help you with focus by making them more specific. Here are some examples:
1. I want to find out what my most active readers want me to write about, so I will create and send a survey to my 5 and 4-star subscribers.
2. I want to interact with people, so I will read and leave a meaningful comment on two notes daily to people whose content resonates with me.
3. I want to return after a career break and land a job, so:
- I will contact 10 companies I would love to work with.
- I will update my CV with my mircro-frontends project and my Substack activity
4. I want to release my micro-frontends MVP by the end of the month, so I need to implement features A, B, and C by allocating x minutes every day to work on the project.
Hey, Andrew, first of all, congratulations. I've read your first post, and I really liked it.
What drew my attention is that you already managed to improve your lifestyle with two crucial goals:
- Improve your fitness
- Get control over your finances with budgeting
These are fantastic improvements. 🙌
Did you think about how much time you want to invest in brainstorming, titles, writing, and editing? Also, how can I better support you in your journey?
I'm not trying to overthink things. I use Obsidian and have a folder of ideas, so I can go into my ideas and brainstorm titles for these ideas. Then, on Friday, I can pick one I want to write about and write a draft. If I can come up with at least 5 ideas every week, I should always have plenty of ideas to choose from.
2. Reach an estimated annualized donation of $20 (from the total of $200)
For my running goal, I'm only 100K short, so I have to run at least 25k per week to make it happen.
As for my donations goals, considering that I donate 20% of paid subscriptions, I need to grow the community to at least five members, assuming they will join by accepting the 60% off discount.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'll work on making these goals more specific. 🙏
I'm glad you find the feedback helpful. 😊
In the end, this should be the goal of the community: to support each other and give meaningful feedback. 🙌
My goal for March is to publish a long form article every Tuesday.
I plan on getting there by brainstorming ideas & titles on Wednesdays, writing on Fridays, then editing and scheduling on Mondays.
So far no blockers. I'm just trying to establish a habit.

By 31 March, I have two main focuses:
1. Achieve my yearly running goal of 1000K
2. Reach an estimated annualized donation of $20 (from the total of $200)
